Spring Offers Opportunity to Update Your Look

Ah, springtime. It’s all about renewal. It’s no wonder why so many women feel that April – the first full month of the spring season – is a splendid time to update their looks. Need some tips? Read on to learn the latest trends in spring hair, makeup and nails from Jmore beauty guru Ariel Lewis.

Tropical Hues

Expect to see a lot of turquoise, orange and green on the racks this spring. This season’s up-to-the-minute makeup shades complement those bright beachy colors.

Incorporate turquoise into your makeup regimen by using a sea-colored gel eyeliner on the inside corners of your eyes. Applying a brown or black liner to the rest of your lower and upper lash-lines will make this trend more wearable off the runway.

Coral cheeks are a perfect way to brighten your complexion for warmer weather. Fairer skin tones can opt for a light peony pink blush instead. And don’t neglect the sun screen!

Have some fun with your lipstick. Bring out soft pinks for the office and try experimenting with fuchsia shades for a night on the town. It’s definitely time to put away those fall brown and mauve tones.

Beachy, Not Brassy

In keeping with the beach theme, flowing barrel curls and effortless (just walked off the beach) waves will turn heads this spring. Stay away from overly bleached highlights and opt for a more natural shade. If your locks are looking brassy, ask your stylist to quiet them down by applying a toner to create a softer, more sophisticated style.

Nails Spring-Style

Use your nails as a fashion accessory by painting them with the season’s hottest colors.

New Under The Sun

It’s totally time to bring out the bronzer. One of Lewis’ favorites?  Tarte’s Maracuja Rainforest Glow Instant Matte Waterproof Body Protector! Use this on your cheeks in place of traditional powder contour products. You can even use this bronzer on legs and chest to give all exposed areas a sun-kissed glow.
