In addition to the previously announced “Hamilton” (which closes the season June 25-July 21), the Hippodrome Theatre has announced eight other Broadway shows for its 2018/19 season. Current subscribers can renew now. New subscriptions will go on sale in mid-March.
Other highlights for the next season include “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Come from Away” and “The Book of Mormon.”
Here’s the schedule:
Oct. 9-14: “Les Miserables” — Cameron Mackintosh’s reimagined classic with new staging; Songs include “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Bring Him Home” and “One Day More” (Season option)
Nov. 13-18: “Fiddler on the Roof” — A new production of the heartwarming masterpiece; Songs include “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker”
Dec. 4-9: “Anastasia” — New musical about the Russian Empire with a book by Terrence McNally
Jan. 22-27, 2019: “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” — Roald Dahl’s classic with a brand-new score; Songs include “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”
Feb. 19-24, 2019: “The King and I” — Tony Award-winning revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s crowd-pleaser; Songs include “Getting to Know You,” “Shall We Dance?” and “Something Wonderful”
April 2-7, 2019: “The Book of Mormon” — The nine-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy about a pair of missionaries spreading the Good Word (Season option)
April 23-28, 2019: “Come from Away” — A new musical inspired by the real-life events of 7,000 passengers stranded in Newfoundland on 9/11
June 4-9, 2019: “The Play That Goes Wrong” — The smash comedy play that’s a mashup of Sherlock Holmes and Monty Python
June 25-July 21, 2019: “Hamilton” — Lin-Manuel Miranda’s wildly popular modern take on Alexander Hamilton
