There’s no denying it. Cooler weather is coming and along with it new fashion, skin care and makeup trends. This month, Jmore beauty expert Ariel Lewis shares tips on her favorite new products and application techniques.
Flattering Foundations
This season’s most popular foundations are CC (color correcting) creams that deliver good coverage and moisture despite being lightweight. CC creams hide fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone and de-emphasize redness and blemishes.
Try: Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream
Compatible with all skin types, this product provides sun protection (SPF 30) and leaves skin glowing. Hint: Apply your CC Cream with a stippling brush, building as much coverage as you need for a flawless finish.
Strong Lips and Cheeks
Celebrities like Viola Davis, Reese Witherspoon and Blake Lively have all been seen rocking this fall makeup trend. As luck would have it, it’s easy to master.
Try: Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour in Canyon
Flattering for all complexions, this creamy blush adds natural color and gives skin a velvety finish.
Try: NARS Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Sugarcane
High impact and hand-crafted, Bite’s formula offers creamy, highly saturated lip coverage as well as numerous health benefits. Made without parabens, sulfates and phthalates, it includes 12 edible oils that moisturize and soften lips.
Soft Eyes
Put aside heavy liners in favor of a more natural, smudged eyeshadow to balance out this season’s strong lips and cheeks. Oranges and earth-toned shadows are good choices while a darker-hued lower lash line will open your eyes, lending a youthful look.
Try: Estee Lauder DoubleWear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil in Burgundy Suede
Tinted Eyebrows
Strong brows have been trending for quite some time. But applying brow color can be a challenge, especially for women on the go. Perhaps it’s time to give eyebrow tinting a second glance. We recommend visiting a reputable brow specialist. But if you choose to tint brows at home, select a semi-permanent brow tinting kit with vegetable dyes that won’t harm your eyes. A barrier cream or ointment applied to the brow area will protect against staining and help to insure that dye won’t seep into the eyes.
