With fall well underway, it’s not just the leaves that are changing but also the beauty trends. This season, Jmore beauty expert Ariel Lewis says we can expect to see more shimmer, glossier lips, neutral shades and that effortless “no-makeup” makeup look.

A strong proponent of clean beauty, Ariel is excited to create a fall look with Beautycounter, one of the most popular clean beauty brands on the market. When you purchase a product manufactured by Beautycounter, you can feel confident that it doesn’t contain any of the 1,500 harmful or potentially harmful ingredients not currently banned in the United States.

Using rose, mauve and warm taupe shades with red undertones, Ariel demonstrates a timeless, daytime look on Beautycounter consultant Mandy Thrush. By following this eight-step guide, you can get the classic look at home. (Note: concealer, foundation and bronzer colors will vary based on skin tone.)

THE FACE

1 Apply Counter + No. 2 Plumping Oil all over face.

2 Use one swipe of the Touchup Skin Concealer Pen over the nose, a few dots under the eyes and as a spot concealer for blemishes. Blend into skin with Retractable Foundation Brush.

3 Mix Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer and Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation. Apply all over face with Retractable Foundation Brush followed by Mattifying Powder applied with Powder Brush.

4 Apply Radiant All Over Bronzer on forehead and under cheek bones with Fan Powder Brush followed by Satin Powder Blush in Melon with angled blush brush.

THE EYES

5 Using the crease eye brush, apply the color Suede from the Necessary Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette in the transition crease of the eyes and the color Clove in the outside corners.

6 Using the all-over eye brush, apply the color Flaxen from the Velvet Eyeshadow Palette-Statement on the eyelids and the color Bone under the eyebrows.

7 Fill in eyebrows using Color Define Brow Pencil followed by the Brilliant Brow Gel in Invisible. Finish the eyes applying a thin line of the Color Outline Eye Pencil in Brown on the top lid, copper colored eyeshadow under the bottom lashes from the Velvet Eyeshadow Palette-Statement and Volumizing Mascara.

THE LIPS

8 Combine Peach Pearl and Magnolia Shimmer lip gloss for a soft, glossy lip. These colors are special edition, but any neutral berry color is perfect for fall.

Creating this timeless fall look was Ariel’s first time using Beautycounterproducts, and overall she was impressed by the quality of the makeup. The powders and shadows have a great consistency and the coloring is spot-on.

“The makeup had a truecolor read, meaning whatever it looked like in the palette was what it lookedlike on the skin,” she says. “Sometimes, when there are a lot of chemicals in aproduct, the color oxidizes deeper on the skin. These felt comparable to somehigher-end lines that I have used.”

To get full foundationcoverage, as well as SPF, Ariel recommends combining the two types offoundation — Due Skin and Tint Skin

While the eyeliner wasnot Ariel’s favorite — she felt it was too dry, prefers retractable eyelinerto a pencil and wouldn’t use it under the water line — she loved the mascara. Toget the full amount of volume, Ariel says to use 2-3 coats of mascara.

As for the coloringAriel chose for this fall look, she went with neutral shades that are fallstaples.
