Pepper-Crusted Maple Lacquered Salmon

Servings 4 portions

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbs. light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 4 6-oz. salmon filets
  • 1/4 cup black pepper ground, course
  • 1 tbs. olive oil

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the syrup, brown sugar and soy sauce and marinate for a minimum of four hours.
  • Preheat sauté pan for 2-3 minutes then add oil.
  • Place top side of salmon into the black pepper and press on it so the pepper sticks to the salmon.
  • Place salmon pepper side down in sauté pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Cook salmon in a 350-degree oven for an addition four minutes or until cooked as desired.
  • Salmon can also be grilled for approximately three minutes per side.
