Instructions
For the filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine peaches, raspberries, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon in a large bowl. Gently toss ingredients to blend.
  3. Transfer the filling to a buttered, 9-inch glass or ceramic pie pan.
For the topping
  1. Sift flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder and salt into a large bowl.
  2. Whisk cream, egg and vanilla in a small bowl to blend.
  3. Add the cream mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until soft dough forms.
  4. Using a ¼ cup measure, drop dough on top of the filling in nine evenly spaced mounds. Brush the mounds with melted butter.
  5. Blend the remaining sugar with cinnamon in a small cup. Sprinkle it with the cinnamon and sugar mixture (and sliced almonds, if desired).
  6. Bake the dessert until filling bubbles and topping are golden brown, about 45 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve with a generous scoop of your favorite local vanilla ice cream!
